Sauna Installation in a Dubai Villa
A sauna installation in a Dubai villa goes smoothly when the electrical point, the route in, and the air path are agreed before the cabin is ordered. Most delays are not the cabin. They are a finished corridor that is 5 centimetres too tight, or a circuit that was never on the drawing.
Decide the sequence
- Choose the format. Infrared, traditional, hybrid, outdoor, or bespoke. The buying guide is the short list.
- Confirm the path. Measure doors, lifts, and turns from the unloading point to the room. A two-person cabin does not hinge in half to suit a stair.
- Reserve the power. Indoor residential cabins are typically 220–240V single phase. A traditional heater needs more capacity than a personal infrared cabin. A commercial plunge such as the Glacier Pro is a different case: it is specified for three-phase power.
- Plan air and water. Traditional and hybrid heaters need ventilation. A plunge needs drainage and a service gap around the chiller. Do these with the sauna, not after the flooring is down.
- Protect the finishes. Install while floors can still be covered. Marble edges and glass corners are the usual casualties of a late delivery.
Indoor, outdoor, and built-in
A pre-built indoor cabin, such as the Eclipse or the Horizon, is a placement and connection job once the room is ready. An outdoor cabin such as the Terra needs its base and shade first. A bespoke Atelier room is built with the site, so the studio needs to be in the drawings earlier.
Installation is quoted with the cabin. Starting prices on the product pages do not include surprises in the building. Send the floor plan and a photo of the route in.
Do I need a structural engineer?
For a pre-built cabin on a normal villa slab, usually no. Upper floors, roof terraces, and built-in rooms cut into structure should be checked with your consultant.
Can the cabin be moved later?
Pre-built cabins can be relocated if the new room has access and power. Built-in rooms cannot. Tell the studio if you expect to move house.
How dusty is the work?
Placing a finished cabin is a light site job. Cutting a built-in room into joinery is a proper site. Plan it with the other trades.
